Ninth Destination on My Dream Trip Around the World
07.06.2015 - 07.06.2015 24 °C
My flight from Kuala Lumpur has just landed at Hong Kong International Airport in Hong Kong, China. The flight was just under four hours long and cost me $183.00. The total distance between Malaysia's capital and Hong Kong is 2528.70 km. Since I arrived before noon, I still have plenty of time to do some sightseeing today, after checking in to my hotel, the Jen Hotel Hong Kong. First, I will visit Victoria Peak, a mountain located in the city's southern end, famous for the panoramic views it offers of Hong Kong and Victoria Harbour. I will then stop by the Hong Kong Wetland Park, a 60 hectare wetland reserve located about 30 minutes north of the city.
I have just finished eating dinner at my hotel. As I make my way to my room, I reflect on my first day in Hong Kong. The views from Victoria Peak were stunning and the tram that I took to travel up and back down the mountain was an interesting and convenient feature. Furthermore, the Wetland Park was well worth the drive, as I learned a lot about the region's wetland ecosystem's and wildlife.
My last day in Hong Kong will be spent appreciating Hong Kong's modern architecture. First, I will visit the International Finance Center and then I will travel across Victoria Harbour to the International Commerce Center.
I have just stepped out of the International Commerce Center and I am now on my way to dinner. The views from the tops of both skyscrapers I visited were breathtaking and allowed me to see the city, mountains and harbour from two different perspectives. For dinner, I will be eating at Tim's Kitchen, a small restaurant serving traditional Cantonese dishes. When I return to my hotel, I will probably relax in the pool for an hour or so before getting some rest prior to my flight back home to Mississauga Tomorrow.
